Much of blog writing for businesses is centered on marketing. However, running a successful business blog is more than SEO, link building, and other Internet marketing strategies.

In fact, by going outside of these constraints, your company’s blog can more naturally utilize link building campaigns, SEO, and other items. It won’t look as “spammy,” also.

Take a look at the following ideas for blog-like posts that any blog – business or not – should be using:

  • The Great Story: Is there a great company near your industry that is doing great things in the world? What about a person that has an inspirational story? If you were a local running company, TOMS shoes and Oscar Pistorius would be natural, engaging, and certainly worthy of this label.
  • It’s Just Cool: One of the weirdest shoes ever seen just hit the stores across the world. Why not blog about it? It could let your customers in on a topic they already find interesting. It could also give your customers some valuable entertainment – and your company’s blog is the source.
  • Helpful: Guides for a business product, upkeep of product, and so forth – these are always strong topics for blogs. No marketing needed, as customers can find this engaging and, of course, helpful.

The list could surely go on. When combined with sales, upcoming announcements, and some promotional posts, your business blog can capture the reader’s attention and gain a more powerful web presence, naturally.
